Tijdens mijn weekendtrip naar Stuttgart en Wendlingen om het Jubileumfeest bij te wonen, zag ik deze concertvleugel in het Muziekinstrumenten Museum in Stuttgart. Ondanks het feit dat deze website zich richt op het harmonium, kan ik het toch niet laten om deze bijzondere vleugel toe te voegen aan het hoofdstuk Schiedmayer.		This website has its focus on Harmonium, nevertheless I can not resist to add this Concert Grand Piano to this chapter Schiedmayer.
Wie het Museum binnengaat, krijgt als eerste deze magnifieke vleugel onder ogen.		The moment you enter the Museum, the first you see is this magnificent Concert Grand.
En het zal de bedoeling zijn van zowel bouwer als Museum, dat de bezoeker onder de indruk komt van het uiterlijk van dit instrument.		Builder and Museum share the same goal, to impress the visitor with the looks of this instrument.
Bij mij is het volledig geslaagd, ik was werkelijk overdonderd door de schoonheid van de vleugel.		It worked flawlessly for me, I was stunned by the beauty of the Grand Piano.

This instrument was built to be presented on the 1900 Exhibition in Paris. About a year afterwards, the Stuttgarter Musikinstrumentensammlung purchased this Konzertflügel and added to the collection of musical instruments.

It was not part of the permanent exhibition of the Sammlung, till 1973. From that moment it is in the Entrance hall of the museum. When entering the museum, this Konzertflügel is the instrument you see at first.

De vleugel van de Schiedmayer Pianofortefabrik werd gebouwd voor de Wereld Tentoonstelling van Parijs in 1900. Het instrument werd daar geëxposeerd als een onderdeel van een muziekkamer.	The Concert Grand Piano of the Schiedmayer piano factory was built for the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. There the instrument was shown as part of a music room.
Het ontwerp van de intarsiën (inlegwerk) werd gemaakt door Robert Knorr. De intarsiën werden vervaardigd uit brons, messing, lapis lazuli, Parelmoer, ivoor en diverse ededele houtsoorten, alles geleverd door de firma G. Wölfel uit Stuttgart.	The designs for the intarsia (inlay work) came from Robert Knorr, and were created by using bronze, brass, lapis lazuli, mother of Pearl, ivory and various precious varieties of wood, all of them delivered by the Stuttgart-based company G. Wölfel.
De vleugel werd in 1901 gekocht rechtstreeks van het bedrijf Schiedmayer door het Landesgewerbe Museum en werd in 1968 overgebracht naar de Musikinstrumentensammlung van Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart.	The Concert Grand Piano was purchased in 1901 directly from the company Schiedmayer Pianofortefabrik, by the Landesgewerbemuseum (National Museum) and came with the other holdings of the Landesmuseum in 1968 at the Landesmuseum (Musikinstrumenten Sammlung of Baden-Württemberg

Der Flügel aus der Schiedmayer Pianofortefabrik entstand für die Pariser Weltausstellung im Jahr 1900. Dort wurde das Instrument als Bestandteil eines Musikzimmers gezeigt.

Die Entwürfe für die Intarsien stammen von Robert Knorr, ausgeführt wurden die Einlagen aus Bronze, Messing, Lapislazuli, Perlmutt, Elfenbein und div. Edelhölzern von der Stuttgarter Firma G. Wölfel.

Der Flügel wurde 1901 direkt von der Firma Schiedmayer vom Landesgewerbemuseum angekauft und kam mit den anderen Beständen des Landesgewerbemuseums 1968 in das Landesmuseum.

Das Instrument umfasst sieben Oktaven und eine Terz (a2-cV); es verfügt über eine doppelte Repetitionsmechanik mit doppelter Auslösung und Oberdämpfung.

Die zwei Pedale bewirken, ganz klassisch, Verschiebung und Dämpfung.

Die Fabrikationsnummer auf dem Eisenrahmen lautet 31.342; die Nummer des Resonanzbodens 15.392.
