Hoite Pruiksma kan brulboeiorgel bouwen
Hoite Pruiksma kan eindelijk zijn brulboeiorgel bouwen. De musicus loopt al jaren rond met het plan een orgel te bouwen dat bespeeld wordt door water.
Dankzij een subsidie van 150.000 euro van de provincie Fryslân kan hij nu aan de slag. Het orgel zal bestaan uit een eiland en verschillende losse boeien met pijpen. Behalve door het water, moet het orgel ook door mensen bespeeld kunnen worden. Waar het orgel moet komen, is nog niet bekend maar verschillende gemeenten hebben inmiddels interesse getoond.Het orgel moet toeristen trekken en kinderen kunnen er op spelen. Een prototype moet in oktober van dit jaar klaar zijn.

Finally, Hoite Pruiksma, a Frisian musician will be able to turn his idea of building an organ played by the tidal waves of the sea. For years he considered his idea te create an organ consisting multiple pipes with free reeds in them, placed in the sea. Due to the tidal waves, water will be pushed inside the pipes, and when the wave distracts, a vacuum will be in the pipe, and will make the installed free reeds to sound.
The idea has been awarded with a stipendium of € 150,000 by the province of Friesland (Fryslân).
The organ will be modelled as an island, surrounded by pipes in the water, so the elements - water, tidal moves - will make the organ to sound. Many Frisian municipialities have asked to be the place where the organ will be erected in the sea.
Local governments believe this will be an attraction for tourist.
The organ, when finished, should be also playable by an artist.
